Our story

A home opened its doors to two children. A community grew around a belief in every person's possibilities.

A home. A beginning.

Before there were five schools, there was one family who opened their door.

In 1999, Late V.U. Muhammad Haji and Fatima Hajima welcomed two children of an abandoned mother into their home in Kozhikode, so she could work.

As more families sought support, the family residence became a dedicated special school. In 2004, that commitment was formalised as the A.M. Foundation Charitable Trust.

To transform possibilities into opportunities.

The people behind the promise

Every child has a story

Our Chairman's message begins with the individual: their story, abilities and interests, rather than their limitations.

A first spoken word. A task completed independently. A performance on stage. Each matters, and each is a reason to stand alongside a family.

From the Chairman's message

It began with two children

Our General Secretary reflects on the journey from two children to a family of nearly 600 across five branches in Kerala.

Inclusion is a shared social responsibility. Families, educators, partners and supporters all have a place in this journey.

From the General Secretary's message

A future for every ability

A future where every ability is recognised, every potential is nurtured, and every individual has the opportunity to belong, contribute and thrive.
